PIBSA
IntroductionGL 1940 is an ash less, non‑fatty, high viscosity surfactant additive.GL 1940 is a polyisobutenyl succinic anhydride (PIBSA) derived from polybutene. It is commonly used as an intermediate in the manufacture of oil soluble dispersants for lubricating oil applications and in the manufacturing of emulsifiers. FormulationGL 1940 is recommended for use at 3 to 14% wt in base oils.Benefits - Good wettability properties
- Clean annealing characteristics
- Good emulsibility properties
- Non‑staining towards aluminum
- Lubricant additives
- Drilling fluids
